The arequipenian Cook is one of the most varied of Peru among its dishes outstand particularly :

Chupe de Camarones
Soup of shrimps with milk, eggs, and oregano..

Rocoto relleno
Rocoto without veins .stuffed with mince-meat with cheese, milk and potatoe.

Salat with ensalada de queso fresco, broad beans, onions, olives and rocoto.

Adobo Arequipeño
Pork meat marinated in chicha and spices,cooked in pot.

Potato salat with rocoto, vinager, oil, tomato and parsley.

Soup with lamb meat, salted dry meat, or salted dry meat of ram.

Stewed potatoes , covered with fresh cheese sauce, broad beans, onions, olives and rocoto.


The Chapi Virgin Feast (may)
Traditional pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of Chapi at about 90 km from the Arequipa city. It is usual to promise to the Virgin to carry out the pilgrimage for three consecutive years.

Arequipa city Aniversary (august)
The FIA (International Fair of Arequipa) located at Cerro Juli, Exhibitions at the Fund el Fierro, the festival of international dances (Festidanza) and the International competition for climbing the Misti are performed to celebrate this day ,August 15, in which ther is also a friendship parade.

Cotahuasi aniversary (may 04)
Is the most important traditional celebration of the province,bulls corridas, there are dance competitions and visits to different attractions or the region are promoted.
